Increased demands on reduced noise and emission of exhaust fumes have led to enclosed and more insulated engine compartments, higher fuel pressures, and increased engine compartment temperatures. Most fires start in the engine compartment.
PERMANENTLY INSTALLED AND FULLY AUTOMATIC FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
A well-developed fire in an engine compartment often has a rapid progression and is impossible to fight with a hand extinguisher. The solution is a permanently installed and fully automatic fire suppression system.
The piston accumulator is the base of the Fogmaker system. and should have a working pressure of 100-105 bar at 20 degrees C.
The detector bottle is the base for the detection system and the pressurized detection tube. This bottle is checked with every annual inspection to ensure correct pressure and functionality.
The distribution system consists of distribution hoses, pipes, fittings, and spray nozzles. The system distributes the suppression liquid from the piston accumulator out into the fire-protected area.
Fire and fault alarm signals – a constant alarm signal equals fire! An alarm signal every 60 seconds equals a fault alarm, it could be a sign of a broken cable, faulty pressure switch/signal module, leakage/low pressure etc.
OUTSTANDING CHOKING AND COOLING TECHNIQUE THAT IS ALWAYS ACTIVE
High-pressure water mist has an outstanding choking and cooling effect. The system is always active – no power supply is needed for activation or system monitoring. Also, Fogmaker has a longer emptying time than many competing systems, which is critical to prevent reignition and downtime. This also buys extremely valuable time for evacuation.
